๐Ÿ“† Days Between Dates

Find out exactly how many days, weeks, or months separate two dates.

How the days-between calculation works

This tool converts both dates into a day count and subtracts them, which automatically handles varying month lengths and leap years without any manual adjustment. The result is the exact number of calendar days between your two dates, along with rough week and month equivalents for context.

Why not just count months ร— 30?

Because months don't all have 30 days โ€” some have 28, 29, 30, or 31. Estimating with a flat 30-day month can be off by several days over a few months, which matters for contracts, deadlines, or billing cycles. Calculating from actual calendar days avoids that drift entirely.

Worked example: From January 1, 2026 to September 24, 2026 is 266 days โ€” about 38.0 weeks or 8.7 months.

Frequently asked questions

Does the result include both the start and end date?

The count reflects the number of full days between the two dates (the difference), not an inclusive day count. If you need an inclusive count (both endpoints counted), add 1 to the result.

Does it matter which date I enter first?

No โ€” the calculator takes the absolute difference, so the order of start and end date doesn't change the result.

How accurate are the week and month estimates?

The day count is exact. Weeks are days รท 7, and months use an average month length (30.44 days) since actual month lengths vary โ€” so treat the month figure as an approximation.
