How business days are counted

This calculator walks through every calendar day between your two dates and counts only those that fall on Monday through Friday, skipping Saturdays and Sundays. That gives you the number of standard working days in the range — useful anywhere a deadline, SLA, or shipping estimate is measured in "business days" rather than calendar days.

What counts as a business day here

Monday through Friday count as workdays.
Saturday and Sunday are always excluded.
This tool does not currently exclude public holidays — if your deadline needs to skip specific holidays too, subtract those days manually from the result.

Worked example: From Monday, September 1, 2026 to Friday, September 25, 2026 is 25 calendar days, but only 19 business days once the weekends in between are excluded.

Frequently asked questions

Does this exclude public holidays?

No — it only excludes Saturdays and Sundays. If specific public holidays fall within your range, subtract those from the total manually.

Are the start and end dates both included in the count?

Yes — if the start and end dates themselves fall on a weekday, they're included in the business-day total.

What if my start date is after my end date?

The calculator automatically swaps them so the count is always based on the earlier date to the later date.
